Disaster Hits as Unintentional Explosion at Law Enforcement Facility in Kashmir Region Under Indian Control Results in Nine Lives
A devastating detonation at a police station in the Indian-controlled part of Kashmir has led to the fatalities of nine people and wounding to thirty-two more, according to official statements.
The incident happened when a cache of impounded blast substances inadvertently exploded during processing activities.

The explosion took place on the evening of Friday at the Nowgam security post, where explosive materials taken from the Faridabad area in the northern territory of Haryana state were being kept briefly.
Area law enforcement head declared that the blast materials were awaiting scientific analysis when a "very unfortunate" incident during processing resulted in their detonation at approximately 23:20 in the evening.

Law enforcement officials confirmed that this was an "inadvertent blast" and not a terror incident. "Alternative theories regarding the reason of this incident is unnecessary," emphasized the law enforcement head during a press briefing.
The police station experienced severe damage from the explosion, with neighboring structures also being affected by the strong explosion.
Consequences and Victims
Numerous cars were "covered in blaze and turned into burned shells, with wreckage spread across the site," according to police accounts.
"The intensity of the detonation was such that some human remains were recovered from close-by residences, approximately between 100 and 200 meters from the police station," stated an police contact.
