The ex-Aussie cricket star Damien Martyn has been admitted to hospital and placed in an induced coma after being diagnosed with meningitis.
Serious Health Battle Disclosed
The 54-year-old âis in for the fight of his lifeâ, as stated by former AFL player Brad Hardie, who disclosed Martynâs condition on Tuesday.
âLetâs hope he can pull through because itâs really serious,â Hardie said.
Martyn remains in a serious condition after falling ill on Boxing Day and being taken to a hospital in Queensland, according to sources close to the family.

The condition meningitis involves swelling of the protective layers that cover the brain and spinal cord.
An Illustrious Cricket Career
Widely regarded as one of Australiaâs most talented batters, featuring in 67 Tests and amassing 4,406 Test runs for an average of 46.37 between 1992 and 2006.
