Former Physician Charged with Assault Charges Involving 38 Individuals in His Care
Legal authorities have announced that a ex- doctor now faces charges for performing assaults against 38 individuals who were under his care.
The Serious Allegations
Nathaniel Spencer from Birmingham is accused of numerous sexual offences â some of which involve some against children younger than 13 â between 2017 to 2021.
One deputy chief CPS official stated, âOur prosecutors have worked at length to assist a detailed and complex investigation, carefully reviewing the available evidence to establish that there is sufficient evidence to proceed to trial and that it is in the public interest.â
The Investigation
These allegations come after what investigators called a âcomplex investigationâ into alleged assaults at two hospitals: the Royal Stoke university hospital and a facility in Dudley.
Spencer is due to appear at the North Staffordshire justice centre on 20 January.
List of Offences
The charging documents said the 45 sexual offences comprise:
- 15 counts of sexual assault.
- Seventeen counts of assault by penetration.
- Nine counts of assault on a minor under thirteen.
- 3 counts of penetrative assault on a child under thirteen.
- One count of attempted penetrative assault.
Authorities have asked individuals with information to get in touch with the investigating team.
