The Streaming Giant Selects Perfect Performer for Mr. 2 in One Piece Upcoming Installment
Baroque Works is set to play a huge role in the forthcoming season on Netflix of One Piece, although the major clash won’t take place until season 3, and a cherished, audience-beloved member has now been chosen.
Netflix announced recently that the skilled actor is now part of the One Piece season 3 cast and will portray Mr. 2. This character has the ability to transform into an identical duplicate of anyone they’ve touched with their main hand. The performer, who is identifies as non-binary and uses they/them pronouns, will play a rendition of that role re-envisioned as non-binary, as opposed to as a drag queen, in the live-action show, unlike the initial comic and anime.
The new cast member will work alongside a number of recently announced actors tasked with bringing Baroque Works to the screen, such as leader Mr. 0, played by the seasoned performer, Sophia Anne Caruso as another operative, and a familiar face, who is also part of the cast as King Nefertari Cobra of the desert kingdom.
Even though this character is a important part of the group, the persona will be introduced in One Piece the third season. With the next season likely to portray the Little Garden arc, this signals a major departure in the timing of Bon Clay’s introduction, one that could suggest additional alterations to the story’s structure.
Escola’s blend of sharp comedic timing and emotional depth makes them a ideal selection for the role. Along with their recent voice performance in the youth-focused cartoon movie Boys Go to Jupiter, they received high praise and several accolades for penning and acting in the successful stage production Oh Mary!, emphasizing the adaptability they’ll bring to one of One Piece’s widely praised roles.
Netflix's live-action One Piece show is set to return for its next installment on March 10th, 2026.
