Vince Zampella, Dies in a Los Angeles Vehicle Accident
The visionary game developer, the mind behind the globally famous first-person shooter Call of Duty, has died in a traffic collision in the state of California at the age of 55.
The tragic news was announced by Electronic Arts, which owns Respawn Entertainment, the video game company which he helped establish.
The renowned industry figure died after his vehicle was involved in a crash and caught fire on a freeway in Los Angeles on Sunday, US media outlets report.
"We are facing a heartbreaking loss, and we stand with Vince's loved ones, those closest to him, and all those touched by his legacy," a spokesperson for Electronic Arts commented.
